Liverpool Signs Jeremy Doku on Long-Term Deal

Liverpool FC has officially announced the signing of young French defender Jeremy Doku from Rennes on a long-term deal, pending the completion of international clearance procedures.

The Reds reached an agreement with Rennes earlier this year, with final confirmation of the player's transfer expected in the coming days. Doku arrives at Anfield after progressing through the youth ranks at Rennes, where he made 33 appearances for the first team.

The 20-year-old defender featured in 21 matches during the 2025-2026 season before suffering a shoulder injury in February that cut his season short. He also gained additional experience during a loan spell at Clermont Foot, where he played 24 matches.

Doku, a French U21 international, expressed his excitement about joining Liverpool, stating: "I am very happy, and the first impressions are fantastic. Seeing the facilities here made me envision myself in this place. Playing for a club the size of Liverpool has always been a big dream for me, and I am very excited to start this journey."
