Nuno Almeida Among Candidates to Lead Zamalek

Media personality Khaled Al-Ghandour has reported that Portuguese coach Nuno Almeida has entered the running to take over the managerial role at Zamalek in the near future. This move by the White Castle's management is seen as a proactive step in case they decide to part ways with the current coach, Moataz Gamal. Al-Ghandour added on his show "Stadium Al-Mihrab" that there has been verbal communication with Almeida, who expressed his willingness to lead the team. Almeida is among the candidates to coach Zamalek should Gamal leave. Moataz Gamal led Zamalek to win the Egyptian Premier League title last season (2025-2026). Many voices within Zamalek are calling for Gamal to remain in his position, while club sporting director John Edward is keen on hiring a foreign coach.
