Al-Zawraa Club continues its activity in the summer transfer market in preparation for the 2026-2027 season, announcing two new signings to strengthen the midfield and defense.

The first signing was the return of midfielder Luay Al-Ani to the ranks of the Nawras once again. Al-Ani had previously worn the Al-Zawraa jersey in previous periods and returns this time as a free agent after terminating his contract with Al-Karma Club.

Last season was not the best for Al-Ani with Al-Karma, as he participated in 25 matches and only managed to create two goals before parting ways with the team. The player's career is diverse, having previously represented Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Al-Talaba clubs, and having a professional experience with the Moroccan club Kénitra. His return to Al-Zawraa represents a new opportunity to revive his performance and benefit from his experience in the midfield.

The second signing was directed at the defense line, as the Nawras announced the inclusion of Iraqi defender Masees Jack coming from Al-Talaba Club. Jack had an outstanding season with the Elegant, which prompted Al-Zawraa's management to insist on signing him.

Masees participated with Al-Talaba in 31 matches last season and scored 3 goals despite his defensive position, reflecting his abilities in set pieces and offensive contributions. The player also has external experience, having previously played for Duhok Club and had a professional stint in a second division club in the Netherlands.
