Barcelona Announces Final Departure of Ansu Fati to Monaco
FC Barcelona announced that they have reached an agreement with AS Monaco for the permanent transfer of Spanish forward Ansu Fati, marking the end of the 23-year-old's career with the Catalan team. Fati played 123 official matches for the club, scoring 29 goals. Barcelona retains a percentage of any future sale.
Ansu Fati was born in Guinea-Bissau in 2002 before moving to Spain and joining Barcelona's "La Masia" academy in 2012 from Sevilla. He progressed through various youth categories until reaching the first team, quickly attracting attention with his great talent and scoring ability.
Ansu Fati's career had a historic start with Barcelona, as he made his first appearance with the first team in August 2019 at the age of sixteen. He then became one of the youngest goal scorers in the club's and La Liga's history. He also made history in the UEFA Champions League by becoming the youngest player to score a goal in the competition, during a match against Inter Milan in December 2019.
Barcelona sent a message of thanks and appreciation to Ansu Fati, valuing his commitment and contributions throughout his years with the club, and wishing him success and prosperity in his personal and professional journey ahead with Monaco.
