Simeone Considers Excluding Alvarez from Atletico Madrid Lineup
Spanish press reports have revealed that Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is considering excluding Argentine striker Julian Alvarez from the team lineup after the player expressed his desire to leave during the current summer transfer window.
According to what was reported by Sport newspaper, Simeone did not take well to the recent statements made by Alvarez regarding his future. He believes that any player wishing to represent Atletico Madrid must be fully committed to the club's project.
The report added that the Argentine coach cannot prevent Alvarez's transfer to Barcelona if the two clubs reach an agreement, but he is prepared to exclude the player from his tactical plans if he remains with the team after publicly requesting to leave.
Julian Alvarez had previously stated that he informed Atletico Madrid officials of his desire to embark on a new experience, amidst Barcelona's continued interest in signing him. Meanwhile, the Madrid club insists on receiving 150 million euros in cash to agree to sell their Argentine star.
