Ashraf Dari Nearing Departure from Al-Ahly
The future of Moroccan international Achraf Dari with Egypt's Al Ahly is shrouded in uncertainty, as the defender is strongly considered to leave the team during the current summer transfer window, amid a tendency within the club not to retain him for the new season's roster.
According to Moroccan and Egyptian press reports, Dari will join Al Ahly's training sessions at the start of the preparation period for the next season, scheduled for July 1st, before making a final decision about his future. There are indications that the club's management prefers to market him and consider any offers that may be made to acquire him during the summer transfer window.
The same sources reported that Al-Ahly officials do not intend to re-register the Moroccan defender in the team's roster after an experience that did not meet expectations since his transfer from Brest, France. This makes departure the most likely option, provided an offer that meets the management's requirements is reached.
Dari played the second half of last season on loan to the Swedish club Kalmar, under an agreement that included a clause granting the club the right to purchase his contract permanently for $750,000. However, Kalmar's management has not activated this clause yet.
The Moroccan international concluded his experience in the Swedish league with a farewell message posted on his official accounts, in which he expressed words of thanks and gratitude to the Kalmar fans and his teammates, appreciating the time he spent with the team over the past months.
