The German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer entered the World Cup records with a historic number, but it was not the number he had hoped for, as he became the second goalkeeper in the history of the tournament to concede at least one goal in 10 consecutive World Cup matches.

With this number, Neuer matched a negative record that had stood for decades, as only the legendary Mexican goalkeeper Antonio Carbajal had preceded him in this series, conceding at least one goal in 10 consecutive matches during his appearances between the 1950 and 1962 editions.

Neuer reached this milestone after conceding a goal in Germany's last match in the 2026 World Cup, despite the veteran goalkeeper continuing to deliver outstanding performances and leading the German defense with his vast experience.

Despite this number, Neuer remains one of the greatest goalkeepers in World Cup history, having played a large number of matches with the German national team and won the championship title in 2014, in addition to setting many records and achieving individual accomplishments during his international career.
