Australian Prime Minister Supports National Team Before Match Against Egypt
Anthony Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia, sent a message of support to his country's national team before their match against Egypt in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.
The Australian national team is preparing to face Egypt next Friday in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.
Albanese said in a video posted on the X platform: "The Australian national football team represents much of what we love about our country, from the strength, diversity, and unity of modern Australia. It is a team whose history extends to every corner of the world, and the players love playing together for the best country on earth."
He added: "When the Australian team faces its Egyptian counterpart in Dallas, there will be tens of thousands of fans in the stands, but there will also be 28 million Australians cheering for the team from home."
The match between Australia and Egypt will take place at 9:00 PM Cairo and Mecca time.
