Ajax Submits Official Offer to Loan Ter Stegen
The Dutch club Ajax has made an official offer to Barcelona to sign the German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen on loan during the summer transfer window, as part of their efforts to strengthen the goalkeeper position before the start of the new season.
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" explained that Barcelona has already received the offer, noting that Ajax does not have the ability to purchase the player permanently and is seeking to loan him while covering a limited portion of his salary, given that his contract with the Catalan club runs until the summer of 2028.
The newspaper added that the negotiations are currently focused on reaching an agreement regarding the German goalkeeper's salary, while Ter Stegen welcomes the idea of moving to Ajax after spending 12 years with Barcelona.
The Dutch club's interest comes at the direct request of coach Michel Sanchez, who wants to rely on Ter Stegen as one of the team leaders for the upcoming season, especially with Ajax being involved in the preliminary rounds of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The sports project led by Jordi Cruyff within Ajax is one of the reasons that convinced the German goalkeeper to take the step, in addition to guaranteeing him regular participation with the team.
The report confirmed that Ajax officials received assurances regarding Ter Stegen's readiness to return to the field at his best level, after recovering from the injury that kept him out of competitions since the end of last January.
