The journalist specializing in the transfer market, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed that Chelsea has not given up on its pursuit to sign Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka, despite having its initial offer rejected by Sunderland.
Romano stated on his official account on Platform X that Chelsea will continue its negotiations with Sunderland this week in an attempt to find a formula that opens the door to completing the deal.
The London club had made an official offer worth 8 million pounds, but Sunderland categorically rejected it and informed Chelsea that Chaka is not for sale at the moment.
Despite Sunderland's stance, Chaka continues to push for his move to Chelsea, as he wishes to work again under the Spanish coach Xabi Alonso, who previously managed him and achieved great success with him at Leverkusen.
