The Spanish newspaper "Marca" revealed that Real Madrid's decision to hire Portuguese coach José Mourinho was not solely based on technical aspects, but also aimed at restoring discipline in the locker room and addressing the issues the team had faced in recent times.

According to the newspaper, the message from Real Madrid's management in appointing Mourinho was clear: "Let's see now who will raise their hands," referring to the club's desire to end the instances of rebellion and dissent that have emerged within the team in recent seasons.

The report added that Real Madrid signed Xabi Alonso last summer, but the Spanish coach lost control of the dressing room after increasing discontent among some players. The most notable incident was Vinicius Junior's objection to being substituted during the El Clasico match, which led to the dismissal of the Basque coach.

The report indicated that the club then turned to Álvaro Arbeloa, but his tenure was not free of crises either, as the locker room witnessed several disputes, most notably the altercation between Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni, in addition to the conflict involving Antonio Rüdiger and Álvaro Carreras.
