Jalal Jaidi Manages Germany vs Paraguay Match in Round of 32

Sunday 28-06-2026
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the appointment of Moroccan referee Jalal Jaid to officiate the match between Germany and Paraguay, scheduled for Monday at Boston Stadium, as part of the Round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup. This is a further testament to the high level of confidence in Moroccan refereeing in the tournament.

Jaid will be assisted in managing the meeting by Zakaria Brinsi as the first assistant and Mostafa Akrakad as the second assistant, while the Chinese Ma Ning will be the fourth referee, assisted by his compatriot Zhou Fei as the fifth referee.

This is Jalal Jaid's third appointment in the 2026 World Cup, having previously officiated the match between Germany and Curaçao in the group stage, before leading the encounter between Portugal and Uzbekistan, continuing his notable presence in the tournament.

This assignment gives the Moroccan referee a new opportunity to prove his competence in one of the most prominent knockout stage matches, especially since he previously officiated a match for the German national team in the current edition, which ended with "Die Mannschaft" defeating Curaçao 7-1.
