Raúl Asensio, the Real Madrid defender, continues his preparations for the new season with great determination, setting a clear goal for himself to convince coach José Mourinho of his right to remain in the first team, despite the strong competition he faces in the center-back position.

The Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that Asensio, who is 23 years old, refuses to consider leaving despite the presence of prominent names ahead of him in the defender rankings, such as Ibrahima Konaté, Antonio Rüdiger, Éder Militão, and Dean Howsen, along with the possibility of Real Madrid signing a new center-back during the summer transfer window.

The newspaper added that the young defender is spending his summer vacation in the Canary Islands, but he is fully focused on his physical program, training with a personal fitness coach. Those close to the player confirmed that he is working like a beast, noting that they have never seen him with this level of commitment during any previous summer vacation.

At the same time, the newspaper clarified that Real Madrid has tasked agent Jorge Mendes with informing the club of any significant offer that comes in for Asensio for consideration. However, the player is not interested in entertaining any offers, as he is committed to only one idea: proving his ability to contribute to the first team.

Asensio is under contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2031, and he emphasizes that his absolute priority is to continue wearing the club's jersey. He is expected to join the team's training in Valdebebas on July 13 to begin the preparation period under Mourinho's leadership, who will have the final say regarding his future with the team.
