Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of the Iran national team, expressed his frustration after his team drew with Egypt in the 2026 World Cup.

The match between Egypt and Iran, which took place on Saturday morning in the third and final round of the group stage of the World Cup, ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Egyptian national team officially advanced to the round of 32 after securing second place with 5 points, while the Iranian team was in third place with 3 points, awaiting the results of the remaining matches.

The Iran coach criticized America, saying: "We have to leave here directly to the airport, then to Tijuana in Mexico. They did not allow us to arrive two days before the match, which affects us greatly alongside the war."

He continued: "The treatment we received was extremely terrible."

Regarding the match with Egypt, he said: "The opponent scored from one chance, while we wasted 10 chances, and even our disallowed goal was canceled due to just 5 centimeters... A difference of 5 or 10 centimeters was against us alone."

He added: "The cancellation of the second goal was due to technology, I just feel frustrated due to the bad luck we faced in this tournament. Our player was offside by five centimeters after scoring the goal. We scored many, and our players were offside by five centimeters and thirty centimeters."

He concluded: "This was not fair, and maybe God is testing me."
