Egypt Draws with Iran and Advances to Round of 32 in World Cup as Group Runner-up

The match between the national teams of Egypt and Iran, which took place this Saturday morning at Lumen Field in Seattle, ended in a 1-1 draw in the third and final round of the group stage of the World Cup.

Egypt's goal was scored by Mahmoud Saber in the fifth minute after Mohamed Salah shot the ball, which was blocked by the Iranian goalkeeper. The ball rebounded to Mahmoud Saber, who followed up with a shot that went through the defenders and the goalkeeper, finding its way into the net.

In the fourteenth minute, the Iranian national team succeeded in scoring the equalizing goal through Ramin Rezaeian, following up on a rebound from Mostafa Shobeir inside the penalty area.

The match witnessed the cancellation of a goal scored by Shoja Khalilzadeh for Iran in the 90+3 minute due to offside.
