Tonali Approaches Tottenham as Newcastle Insists on His Continuation

Sandro Tonali is nearing a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window, after the Italian midfielder reached an agreement on his personal terms with the London club, while Newcastle United continues to refuse to give up one of its key players.

Reports from both Sky Sports UK and Sky Sports Italy stated that Tonali has agreed on personal terms with Tottenham, where he is expected to sign a contract worth more than £275,000 per week, paving the way for the completion of the deal.

This development comes amid ongoing interest from Manchester United and Arsenal in signing the Italian international, who has been linked with a move away from Newcastle for several months, amid talks of his desire to take a new step in his professional career.

Despite the agreement with the player, the completion of the deal is still dependent on Newcastle's approval, as the English club insists on keeping Tonali and demands around €100 million for his sale. Previous reports indicated that an offer from Tottenham worth around £80 million, equivalent to approximately €92 million, was rejected.

AC Milan had sold Tonali to Newcastle for €60 million in the summer of 2023, with the Italian club retaining a 10% share of any future transfer fee, meaning they would receive additional financial returns if the deal is completed.

The website "Football Italia" added that Arsenal is considered a more ambitious option from a sporting perspective, while moving to Tottenham might give the player the opportunity to work under the Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi, should an agreement be reached between the two clubs.
