Undav: We Lacked Determination Against Ecuador, We Must Give Our All

Deniz Undav, the German national team striker, admitted that his team did not display the required aggression during their 2-1 loss to Ecuador in the third round of the group stage at the 2026 World Cup. He emphasized that the German team needs to show a stronger character in the upcoming matches.

Undav said, "Their level of competition was higher, and they were more aggressive in every tackle. I felt they wanted to win more than we did."

He added: "The Ecuadorian team was stronger and more aggressive. We need to learn from that and give our all as well. They gave 100 percent in every play and were present in every tackle. We didn't have the same determination that we showed in the first two matches. We need to defend ourselves better."

Undav concluded his remarks with a calm message, saying: "But the world hasn't ended."
