Canada Coach Admits the Trick: Davies Was Not Ready to Face Switzerland

Canadian national team coach Jesse Marsch revealed that star Alphonso Davies was not originally part of his plans to play against Switzerland, despite his previous statements suggesting the possibility of his appearance in the match.

After the meeting, Marsh said: "Alfonso wasn't ready yet, and he was never going to play today. I used him a little as bait, and I wanted Switzerland to have to think about him and prepare for the possibility of his participation."

The coach explained that the plan partially achieved its goal, noting that the Swiss national team's press conference included several questions about Davies, which means they had to consider him in their tactical calculations before the match.

On the other hand, Marsh reassured the fans about the condition of the Canadian national team captain, confirming that the player will be ready to participate in the upcoming match after recovering from his injury.
