Liverpool and Newcastle Compete for Lille Talent

Liverpool and Newcastle United are competing to sign the winger from French club Lille, the 21-year-old Belgian international Matheus Fernandez-Bardo, during the current summer transfer window, according to the English newspaper Daily Mail.

Liverpool's interest in the player comes as a more cost-effective option compared to the English star Yan Diomande, whose value is estimated at around 120 million euros, as the club seeks to strengthen its attacking line with financially more flexible deals.

As for Newcastle, they are also looking to finalize the deal, but they may face strong competition from Liverpool, especially after previously losing out in the race to sign Victor Munoz to the "Reds," which intensifies the rivalry between the two clubs in the market.

Fernandez-Bardo had a good season with Lille, contributing to 13 goals in 29 matches in the French league, which caught the attention of several major European clubs.
