Moroccan national team goalkeeper Yassine Bounou confirmed that the "Atlas Lions" needed some time to get into the rhythm of the match against Haiti, noting that the lack of balance in the first half was the main reason for the difficulties the team faced before successfully turning the score around and achieving a 4-2 victory in the final round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

Bono explained, in statements following the match, that the Moroccan team did not present its best form from the very first minutes, which allowed the opponent to create some difficulties and impose its rhythm during periods of the first half.

The "Atlas Lions" goalkeeper said: "The match wasn't easy, and we didn't start it the way we wanted. We were slow to find our rhythm on the field and lacked balance at certain times, which made our task more difficult during the first half."

He added, "In the second half, we had greater control over the course of the match and regained the balance between defensive duties and attacking solutions, which gave us a greater ability to dominate and create opportunities compared to what happened in the first half of the game."

He continued: "If we want to reach the furthest point possible in this competition, we should not be preoccupied with who we will face, but rather we should be prepared to win against any team that stands before us."

He continued: "Our main goal was to achieve victory and continue the progress the team has been showing from one match to another. Additionally, the emergence of new players with good levels represents a strong addition and gives us more options in the upcoming phase."

He concluded by saying, "I believe that Mexican fans hold a special appreciation for the Moroccan national team, and there is a similarity in the football identity between the two countries. We are proud to play in a country with a rich history that has contributed greatly to global football. Morocco also has special historical memories in Mexico dating back to the 1986 World Cup, which gives this stop a special significance for us."
