Moroccan national team captain Achraf Hakimi expressed his great happiness in leading the "Atlas Lions" to the round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup, following the thrilling 4-2 victory over Haiti in the third and final round of the group stage.

Hakimi confirmed, in statements following the end of the match, that the Moroccan national team deserved to qualify after the great effort exerted by the players throughout the first round matches.

The leader of the Lions said, "Our match against Haiti was crazy, as it witnessed many goals and twists. I am very happy and proud of this well-deserved qualification we achieved."

He added: "The match was not easy at all. Despite Haiti being out of the qualifying race, we faced significant difficulties during the first half before we managed to come back and control the game thanks to the substitutions that made the difference."

Hakimi emphasized the need to turn the page on the group stage and focus on the next phase of the competition, stressing that the Moroccan team must maintain the same spirit and ambition in the knockout rounds.

He concluded by saying: "Now we must focus on every match we play, as the upcoming challenges will be more difficult and require us to be at our highest level of readiness and concentration."

The Moroccan national team continues its journey in the 2026 World Cup with high spirits, having finished the group stage without any defeats, securing two wins and a draw, thus earning a spot among the teams advancing to the next round.
