Wahbi after defeating Haiti: Ready to face any opponent in the next round

The coach of the Moroccan national team, Mohamed Wahbi, expressed great satisfaction following the thrilling victory achieved by the "Atlas Lions" over the Haitian team with a score of 4-2, at the conclusion of the group stage matches of the 2026 World Cup. This result granted Morocco a ticket to the round of 32.

Wahbi emphasized, during his statements after the end of the match, that what impressed him the most was the players' character and their ability to handle the circumstances of the game, especially after falling behind twice.

The Moroccan coach said, "The players' reaction was exceptional after falling behind twice. They showed a high fighting spirit and managed to impose their control over the second half, which enabled us to win the match and qualify."

He added: "What impressed me was the players' ability to come back in the game and maintain focus despite the pressure. We were able to address some mistakes, especially on the defensive level, and overcome the confusion we experienced at the beginning of the match."

He continued: "The tactical substitutions gave us complete control in the second half. The most important thing for us was achieving the victory, as it will give the team a significant morale boost before entering the next stage of the competition."

Regarding the anticipated opponent in the next round, Wahbi emphasized the Moroccan team's readiness to face any team, saying: "The players are prepared for any opponent in the next round, whether it's the Netherlands, Sweden, or Japan."

The coach of the "Atlas Lions" concluded his remarks by praising goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, after he saved his goal from a dangerous opportunity during the match, saying: "Bounou is one of the great goalkeepers, and his save of that ball once again confirms his great value and experience in such events."
