Hakimi Achieves Historic Milestone with Morocco in the World Cup

Achraf Hakimi led the Moroccan national team to an important 4-2 victory over Haiti in the third round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, after making a significant offensive contribution by scoring a goal and assisting another during the match.

Hakimi opened the scoring for the Atlas Lions in the 39th minute, before setting up the second goal scored by Ismail Saibari in the first minute of stoppage time of the first half.

The Moroccan fullback's impact was not limited to contributing to his national team's victory, but it also granted him a special place in the history of Moroccan football at the World Cup level.

The "Opta" statistics network reported that Achraf Hakimi became the second player in the history of the Moroccan national team to score a goal and provide an assist in the same match at the World Cup.

The same source added that Abdeljalil Hadda was the only Moroccan player to achieve this feat before Hakimi, during the match against Scotland in the 1998 World Cup.

This achievement reflects the significant impact Hakimi had in the match against Haiti, as he played a direct role in two out of the four goals scored by the Moroccan national team, contributing to the Atlas Lions' victory and adding a new historic record to his World Cup achievements.
