Al-Zawraa Announces Signing of Former Al-Shorta Star
Al-Zawraa Club officially announced the completion of the signing deal with right-back Amir Sabah, coming from Al-Shorta Club, in a move aimed at strengthening the team's right flank in preparation for the new football season.
The White Castle management published a statement through its official channels welcoming the player, confirming that he chose to wear the Al-Nawaris jersey to defend the club's emblem and castle, indicating the start of a new chapter in his career away from the Qithara colors.
Amir Sabah spent several seasons with Al-Shorta Club, leaving a clear mark during his time with the team. During those years, he won the Iraqi Premier League title more than three times, in addition to winning the Iraq Cup and the Iraqi Super Cup with the Qithara jersey. He will now bring his extensive experience in clinching championships to the Al-Shaljiya field.
Before Al-Shorta, the right-back had previous experiences with Al-Talaba, Al-Najaf, and Naft Al-Wasat clubs, which gave him diverse experience in the local league and the ability to adapt to different atmospheres and football schools.
Last season was not successful for Amir Sabah on a personal level. He suffered an injury that kept him off the field for long periods, limiting him to participating in only 10 league matches. Despite the limited minutes, he managed to record one assist with Al-Shorta.
Al-Zawraa is betting on Amir Sabah's defensive and offensive experience. The player is known for his ability to defensively close the right side, while also possessing an attacking tendency that allows him to advance and make a difference through crosses and support along the line.
