Tarek Mostafa, the former Zamalek star, affirmed that the Egyptian national team can defeat Iran in the 2026 World Cup.

Mustafa said in a radio statement: "The match against Iran is not easy, and the Iranian team has significant defensive errors that we can exploit. The Iranian team has strong offensive weapons and will fight to stay in second place and achieve victory over the Egyptian team to ensure qualification."
He continued: "Mahmoud El-Gohary had a significant impact on all the players of the Egyptian national team. He excelled in dealing with players psychologically and mentally, and he also had a strong personality."
He continued: "Hani Ramzy, Hossam Hassan, and Ibrahim were terrified of Mahmoud El-Gohary, and that's why it's difficult to find a coach with all the qualities like El-Gohary."
