Egyptian National Team Continues Preparations to Face Iran

The Egyptian national team has entered the final stage of its preparations to face Iran in the upcoming third and final round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. The "Pharaohs" conducted a new training session in Spokane, USA, under the leadership of the coaching staff led by the twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan.

The training session, which included 24 players, was held at Gonzaga University's fields as part of the preparations for the decisive match that could determine the fate of the Egyptian national team in the race to qualify for the next round.

On the medical front, midfielder Hamdi Fathi underwent a special rehabilitation program after suffering from pain in his hamstring, while defender Hossam Abdel-Meguid continued his treatment program. He also underwent medical examinations under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Abou El-Ela, the national team's doctor, to ensure his physical readiness before the match.

The training session was closely monitored by high-level management, with the presence of Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association and the general supervisor of the national team, alongside Khaled El-Darandali, Vice President of the Association and head of the delegation, as well as board members Mostafa Abu Zahra, Mohamed Abu Hussein, and Tarek Abu El-Enein.

The Egyptian national team enters the upcoming match leading the group with four points, having secured an important victory over New Zealand and drawn in the first round. Meanwhile, Iran and Belgium occupy the second and third positions with two points each, while New Zealand is at the bottom of the standings with one point.

The match between Egypt and Iran is scheduled to take place on the evening of June 26, Seattle time, which corresponds to 6 AM on June 27, Cairo time. In this encounter, the "Pharaohs" aim to secure the top spot and book their ticket to the next round of the World Cup.
