Ronaldo Leads Portugal to a Big Win Over Uzbekistan in the World Cup

The Portuguese national team achieved a wide victory over its counterpart, the Uzbekistan national team, with a score of 5-0, in the match held at NRG Stadium, as part of the second round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

The Portuguese team imposed its control over the course of the match from the early minutes, succeeding in securing its first victory in the tournament and raising its tally to 4 points, temporarily leading the group, while Uzbekistan's tally remained at zero points in the fourth and last place.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring early in the 6th minute after a precise cross from Joao Cancelo, before Nuno Mendes added the second goal in the 17th minute from a brilliantly executed direct free kick into the net.

The Uzbek team tried to get back into the game after scoring a goal in the 29th minute, but the referee canceled it due to a foul at the start of the attack on Cancelo, allowing the Portuguese team to continue its dominance.

Before the end of the first half, Cristiano Ronaldo returned to shake the net again in the 39th minute after a decisive pass from Bruno Fernandes, scoring his second personal goal and the third for his country.

With the start of the second half, the Portuguese team added the fourth goal after a corner kick that caused confusion inside the penalty area, before the ball bounced off goalkeeper Abduvakhid Nematov and turned into the net.

Substitute Rafael Leao concluded the goal festival in the 86th minute, after receiving a cross inside the penalty area and striking it powerfully into the net, confirming Portugal's superiority with a clean five-goal win.
