Zamalek Closes Omar Faraj File Amicably Amid Escalating Registration Crises

Tuesday 23-06-2026
In a step aimed at containing its financial and legal crises, the Zamalek club has reached an agreement with the Palestinian striker Omar Faraj regarding the settlement of his overdue financial entitlements, coinciding with a new decision by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) to suspend the club's registration for two transfer periods.

According to available information, the player's entitlements with Zamalek amount to about one million and 761 thousand dollars, with both parties agreeing to schedule the amount and pay it in installments according to a mechanism and deadlines agreed upon during recent negotiations.

The discussions between the club and the player witnessed a significant breakthrough that contributed to reaching an amicable solution, after Mamdouh Abbas, the honorary president of Zamalek, played a prominent role in bringing viewpoints closer and resolving the file away from any legal escalation.

Zamalek officials hope that this settlement will help close the case permanently, avoiding any legal consequences or additional penalties in the coming period.

In the same context, the number of cases filed against Zamalek has risen to 18, including disputes with clubs, players, and coaches who were previously associated with the club in past years.

The list of claims includes the Portuguese club Estrela da Amadora regarding its entitlements from the deal of the Angolan player Chico Banza, as well as the Belgian club Charleroi linked to its entitlements with the transfer of the Palestinian Oday Dabbagh to the White Castle.

The pending files also include the Ukrainian club Oleksandriya due to entitlements from the Brazilian Juan Bezerra's deal, in addition to financial claims concerning former Portuguese coach José Gomes, Swiss coach Christian Gross, Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi, and Senegalese Ibrahima Ndiaye.
