Real Madrid Continues to Reject CVC Agreement and Escalates to the Supreme Court

Real Madrid announced that the regional court in Madrid has rejected the appeal filed by them and Athletic Bilbao against the investment agreement signed between La Liga and CVC. Thus, the agreement remains in effect for the time being.

The agreement involves Spanish league clubs receiving significant financial investments in exchange for granting CVC a share of future broadcasting rights and commercial revenues, which has sparked widespread controversy since its signing within Spanish football circles.

Real Madrid clarified in its statement that it respects the court's decision but disagrees with its content, considering that the agreement directly affects broadcasting rights and the economic model of La Liga, and limits the clubs' independence in managing their financial resources.

The club confirmed that it will continue to challenge the agreement by appealing to the Spanish Supreme Court, in a new step within an ongoing legal dispute over the future of the financial and commercial system of football in Spain.
