The Algerian national team secured a valuable 2-1 victory over the Jordanian national team in Group Ten of the 2026 World Cup, after coming from behind to win, keeping their hopes alive for advancing to the knockout stages.

With this victory, the Algerian national team increased its historical tally to 4 wins in the World Cup, sharing the second place among Arab teams with the most wins in the tournament's history alongside the Saudi team, while the Moroccan team tops the Arab list.

This victory is the first for the "Desert Warriors" in the World Cup since the 2014 edition, during their fifth participation in the global tournament.

The 2026 World Cup also witnessed a remarkable Arab achievement, as it became the second edition in the history of the World Cup where at least three Arab teams secured victories in the same tournament, following the wins by Morocco, Egypt, and Algeria, amidst a record Arab participation of eight teams in the current championship.

Algeria's victory over Jordan came thanks to second-half goals by Nadhir Ben Bouali and Amine Gouiri, after the Jordanian team initially took the lead through Nizar Al-Rashdan. This win earned "The Greens" their first three points in the tournament and postponed the decision of the qualification ticket from Group Ten to the final round.
