Alvarez: I Want to Leave Atletico Madrid to Fulfill My Dream

The Argentine Julian Alvarez sparked widespread controversy regarding his future with Atletico Madrid after statements in which he confirmed his desire to leave the Rojiblancos this summer.

Alvarez said in press statements reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano: "I don't want to hide or pretend that I don't want to be clear, I'm trying to be honest."

He added, "I have spoken with people from Atletico and I believe that the best thing for everyone involved is for me to leave. I want to fulfill my dream."

According to multiple press reports, the Argentine player dreams of transferring to Barcelona, and the Catalan club has an agreement with the player on his personal terms.

Reports indicated that Barcelona had previously made an offer of 100 million euros to sign the player, but Atletico Madrid's management rejected it. Meanwhile, Real Madrid entered the fray with an offer estimated at around 150 million euros, but it was also rejected by the Madrid club.

Atletico Madrid is holding firm on the release clause in Alvarez's contract, which amounts to 500 million euros, making his departure a complicated matter at the moment, despite increasing interest in his services from top European clubs.
