Liverpool Considers Three Alternatives if Diomande Deal Falls Through

Monday 22-06-2026
The English club Liverpool has begun to devise alternative plans in case the signing of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande falls through during the summer transfer window, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Jacobs pointed out that Liverpool made an offer of 80 million euros plus 20 million euros in add-ons, but the offer was quickly rejected by RB Leipzig, despite Diomande being considered a primary target for the Reds' management.

The same source added that Liverpool's management understands the importance of finalizing deals early and not letting negotiations extend into August, given the need to strengthen the attacking line, especially in the wing positions during the current summer.

The Liverpool recruitment team has begun studying several alternatives in case negotiations with Leipzig fail. Among the options is Yasin Menteh from Brighton, who stands out for his performance in attacking roles and speed on the flanks. Another option is Said Malla from Cologne, who is seen as a promising long-term choice.

The club is also considering Matheus Fernandes as part of the list, while Bradley Barcola remains a long-term option despite his high financial value and strong competition from other European clubs.

The reports confirmed that all these names are considered alternative options for Liverpool in case the deal for Yvan Diomande, who remains a primary target for the club in the summer transfer market, falls through.
