Egypt National Team Fears Losing Fattouh and Atiya Against Iran

The Egyptian national team is preparing to play an important match against the New Zealand team early tomorrow morning, Monday, in the second round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

The Pharaohs began their group stage journey last Monday evening with a 1-1 draw against the Belgian team, as part of the Group G competitions.

During the match against Belgium, Ahmed Fattouh and Marwan Attia, the Egyptian national team duo, received yellow cards. Therefore, they must be cautious during the match against New Zealand to avoid receiving another yellow card that could prevent them from participating in the match against Iran.

The regulations for cards and suspensions in the 2026 World Cup state that if any player or official receives two warnings in two different matches, they are automatically suspended for the next match.

It is worth noting that the match between the Egyptian national team and its Iranian counterpart will take place on the morning of next Saturday, specifically at 6:00 AM Cairo time.
