Ajax Reaches Agreement to Sign Caio Henrique from Monaco

Ajax Amsterdam has reached a preliminary agreement with AS Monaco to sign Brazilian left-back Caio Henrique, in a deal valued at approximately 9 to 9.5 million euros, according to media reports.

Caio Henrique, 28 years old, moved to Europe early from Santos in 2016, then later played with Atlético Madrid where he didn't participate much with the first team, before having a successful loan experience with Flamengo, and then joining Monaco in 2020 for 8 million euros.

During his career with Monaco, he played over 200 matches and consistently performed well. He also participated in the UEFA Champions League and made his debut with the Brazilian national team in 2023. He is skilled at playing as a left-back, as well as a center-back or left midfielder.

Reports indicate that negotiations between Ajax and the player's agent are still ongoing regarding a long-term contract extending until 2029 or 2030, with talks continuing under the leadership of the Dutch club's management to strengthen the left side with the experience of the Brazilian player.
