Real Madrid Refuses Vinicius' Free Departure and Identifies Replacement

Friday 19-06-2026
Journalist Miguel Soriano revealed Real Madrid's stance on the future of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, amid ongoing uncertainty regarding the renewal of his contract with the royal club, noting that his contract expires in the summer of 2027.

According to Soriano, Real Madrid is not considering the scenario of Vinicius leaving for free at the end of his contract, as this option is completely ruled out and not on the table within the club at the moment.

He pointed out that the top priority for Real Madrid's management is to reach an agreement with the player to extend his contract and continue with the team for additional years, given his significant role within the club's sports project.

He added that the royal club might consider the option of selling the player during this summer's transfer market if renewal negotiations falter, in order to avoid entering a complex situation that could risk losing him for free in the future.

The report clarified that Real Madrid does not want to leave the Vinicius case unresolved for a long time, especially given the player's importance and significant market value.

If a decision is made to sell the Brazilian star, Real Madrid's management considers Yan Diomande, the Leipzig player, as the top candidate to replace him, although completing the deal may require more than 100 million euros to secure his services.
