Officially.. Neymar out of the Haiti match in the World Cup

Thursday 18-06-2026
The absence of Brazilian star Neymar Jr. from his national team's match against Haiti has been confirmed. This match is part of the second round of the group stage in the 2026 World Cup, which will take place early Saturday.

The Brazilian Football Confederation announced in an official statement that Neymar will not travel with the national team to Philadelphia, as he will continue the final stage of his rehabilitation program to recover from injury.

The Brazilian federation stated: "Neymar will remain in New Jersey to make the most of the final stage of his recovery, utilizing the facilities available at the team's residence and training center."

Neymar returned to training on the field for the first time with his teammates yesterday, after suffering a muscle injury in his right calf about a month ago while playing for his club Santos.

Although the Brazilian national team coach, Carlo Ancelotti, had previously expressed optimism about Neymar's potential return for the match against Haiti, the coaching staff preferred not to rush his comeback to avoid any setbacks that might affect his readiness for the knockout stages of the tournament.

Neymar continues to follow his therapeutic and physical program under the supervision of the national team's medical staff, hoping to return to the field during the upcoming matches in the 2026 World Cup.
