Moroccan Talent Included in the Ideal Lineup for the First Round of the World Cup

The young Moroccan star Ayoub Bouaddi secured his place among the top stars of the first round of the 2026 World Cup, after being selected by the global statistics network "Opta" in the ideal lineup for the round, following his outstanding performance against the Brazilian team in the match that ended in a 1-1 draw.

"Opta" praised the level displayed by the French Lille player, considering him one of the standout young talents during the opening round of the tournament. He successfully made his presence felt in the midfield against a host of "Seleção" stars, delivering a performance that demonstrated his technical and tactical maturity despite his young age.

The numbers revealed the significant impact of Bouadi on the course of the match, as he touched the ball 87 times, a figure surpassed only by the Brazilian national team's central defensive duo. This reflects the substantial role he played in building attacks and controlling the pace of the game against one of the world's strongest teams.

The Moroccan midfielder also showcased remarkable passing accuracy, completing 60 successful passes out of 66 attempts, with a success rate of 90.7 percent. This achievement made him the second-youngest player in World Cup history to complete more than 50 passes in a single match since at least the 1966 edition, at the age of 18 years and 254 days.
