Latest Updates on Zamalek's Registration Ban Crisis

Thursday 18-06-2026
The media personality Ahmed Shobier revealed the latest developments in the registration ban crisis at Zamalek Club, explaining that the court rejected the urgent request submitted by the White Club to suspend the penalty.

Shobeir stated in a radio broadcast that Zamalek submitted an urgent request to suspend the registration ban in addition to appealing it. However, the court refused to temporarily suspend the penalty, while deciding to review the appeal and make a decision on it in the upcoming period.

He clarified: "Zamalek's situation is very difficult, even for a regular, non-urgent request, because the hope currently does not exceed 5 percent in halting the disciplinary registration. Zamalek is working on resolving the issues it faces, meaning they have resolved the problem with Gomez's assistants and are working on Samson Akinola, and are still looking into the cases concerning the African license as well."

Shobeir added: "What does this remind you of, the rejection of the urgent aspect? Yes, the story of Pyramids when they complained against Al Ahly club to strip them of the Egyptian League title the season before last. The sports court rejected the urgent aspect and told them to proceed with the usual procedures, and in the end, the sports court also confirmed that Al Ahly was the league champion. Just as they rejected the urgent aspect, they rejected the regular aspect, probably just to avoid clashing with Zamalek fans over what happens in these matters after the urgent aspect is rejected."

Shobeir concluded: "To be clear with Zamalek, the issue of suspending the registration ban is very, very difficult."
