Leão Postpones Decision on Future Until After World Cup

Rafael Leão, a player for AC Milan, expressed an uncertain stance regarding his future with the team, leaving the door open to all possibilities following the appointment of his compatriot Ruben Amorim as the new head coach of the club, according to "Football Italia".

The source clarified that Leão's future with Milan remains uncertain, especially after the 2025/2026 season, which did not meet expectations under the leadership of Massimiliano Allegri. The player suffered from injuries and played in various positions throughout the season.

The report indicated that Liao had previously hinted at the possibility of embarking on a new experience during the summer transfer window, while it remains unclear whether the appointment of Amorim will affect his final decision to stay or leave.

"Football Italia" reported statements from Leão following Portugal's 1-1 draw against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the World Cup, where he said: "Right now, I'm only thinking about the World Cup and helping my national team, and after the tournament ends, I'll think about my future."

He added: "I tried to give my best. Sometimes you don't score or assist, but that doesn't mean you weren't good. They defended well, but I tried to confront them, and the team is what matters most."

Leão's contract with Milan runs until June 2028 and includes a release clause of 175 million euros, while the club faces administrative challenges in completely rebuilding its organizational structure.
