Iñaki Peña Nearing Decision on His Future with Barcelona

Iñaki Peña is preparing to decide his future in the coming days, after being excluded from coach Hans Flick's plans, despite being under contract with Barcelona until June 2029.

The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that the Spanish goalkeeper, returning from a loan spell with Elche, is aware that his chances of staying with the team are limited. Meanwhile, Barcelona's management is showing readiness to facilitate his departure, including the possibility of granting him a free transfer in exchange for retaining a percentage of his future sale value.

Despite receiving offers from clubs in the Spanish league, Peña prefers to pursue an experience outside of Spain, with Turkey and Greece being among the potential destinations, especially since he previously played with Galatasaray and left a good impression there.

The newspaper added that the player hopes to finalize his new destination within the next week or the following one at the latest, which means he will not start the pre-season preparation with Barcelona.

After Diego Cochin's loan to Danish club Lyngby and the imminent departure of Peña, the main issue that Barcelona needs to resolve in the goalkeeper position will be the case of Marc-André ter Stegen.
