Accusations Against Brazilian Federation President for Using Official Funds for Personal Trip

Thursday 18-06-2026
Samir Khawood, the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, faced serious accusations following allegations that he used the confederation's financial resources to cover the travel and accommodation expenses of a woman believed to be his mistress during a trip to New York on the sidelines of the World Cup.

According to media reports, Camila Cristina Andrade, a fitness businesswoman from the same state as Jaoed, stayed at a luxury hotel in New York under a reservation linked to the Brazilian official, before later leaving the city while he traveled to Mexico City to meet his wife and attend the opening ceremony of the tournament.

The same sources indicated that such incidents have been repeated since Khawood assumed the presidency of the federation in May 2025, with accusations of funding trips for friends, relatives, and close associates using the institution's funds, which has sparked widespread controversy within the sports and administrative circles in Brazil.

For its part, the Brazilian Football Confederation denied these accusations, affirming that all expenses borne by the federation are exclusively related to official activities, and that personal expenses are the responsibility of the officials themselves, emphasizing its commitment to transparency and administrative integrity.
