Resolution of the Iranian National Team Player's Visa Issue

Wednesday 17-06-2026
Iranian national team player Mehdi Torabi has obtained a multiple-entry visa to the United States, according to the Iranian Football Federation. This comes after his previous visa expired following his departure from the country after facing New Zealand in the 2026 World Cup.

The refusal to grant entry visas to the United States for 15 members of the Iranian delegation, including administrative officials, led to the relocation of the Iranian national team's camp from Arizona to Mexico, even though "Team Melli" will play its three group stage matches on American soil.

The players of the Iranian national team received visas allowing them to enter the United States to play the matches, with plans to leave for their training camp in Mexico immediately after the game. However, winger Mehdi Torabi received a single-entry visa that expired after the New Zealand match.

The Iranian federation confirmed in an official statement: "After the efforts made by the federation and coordination with FIFA, a new multiple-entry visa has been issued for player Mehdi Torabi."

He added, "After obtaining this visa, Torabi will not face any issues accompanying the Iranian national team in its upcoming matches and will be ready to travel with the team for the remainder of the tournament."
