The Egyptian national team, led by coach Hossam Hassan, received reassuring news ahead of their upcoming match against New Zealand in the World Cup.

The Egyptian national team will face New Zealand next Monday, June 22, in the second round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

The readiness of the duo, Ahmed Fattouh from Zamalek and Hamdi Fathi from Al-Wakrah, Qatar, to participate in the match has been confirmed.

Mohamed Murad, the media coordinator for the Egyptian national team at the World Cup, confirmed in a television statement that the duo had undergone an intensive rehabilitation program in recent days to reach full readiness before Monday's match.

He pointed out that Ahmed Fattouh was suffering from a slight muscle strain during the last match against Belgium, but he is now ready to participate, while Hamdi Fathi's issue was also muscle fatigue.

The match between Egypt and New Zealand will kick off at 4:00 AM Cairo and Mecca time.
