Barcelona Nears Signing Jorge Salinas

The Spanish club Barcelona is close to finalizing a deal to sign the young defender Jorge Salinas, a player from Racing Santander, to strengthen the left-back position, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Sport'.

According to the same source, negotiations between Barcelona and Racing are showing significant progress, with the possibility of reaching an agreement in the coming weeks, possibly before the end of June, through a direct agreement between the two clubs to avoid paying the full release clause.

Salinas, who is 19 years old, is considered one of the standout talents in the Spanish second division, having played 33 matches with Racing, starting 30 of them, and providing 7 assists, which has attracted the interest of several clubs, including Atletico Madrid, although Barcelona seems closest to finalizing the deal.

The release clause in the player's contract is estimated at around 16 million euros, with several options being considered to reach a final agreement, including the possibility of the player returning to Racing on loan next season, as well as other options that include incorporating players from La Masia academy or paying an amount with add-ons and a resale percentage.

Some final details are still under negotiation between the parties, with a resolution expected in the near future.
