AC Milan announced the appointment of Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim as the head coach of the men's first team, marking the beginning of a new phase with the Italian club in the coming period.

According to the club's statement, Amorim began his coaching career in 2018 after his playing career.

The coach moved into coaching early with Casa Pia and Sporting Braga, before taking over at Sporting Lisbon in March 2020, where he led the team through a successful phase characterized by a clear playing identity and continuous player development.

During his tenure at Sporting, Amorim achieved several titles, including two Portuguese league titles, two League Cup titles, and a Super Cup title, before later taking charge of Manchester United.

The statement noted that Amorim's style relies on a modern tactical approach based on possession, organization on the field, and the development of young players, in addition to high pressing and quick transitions.

Ruben Amorim expressed his happiness at taking charge of Milan, affirming that leading the team had been a dream throughout his career, and that he understands the club's value, history, and its global fanbase, emphasizing his enthusiasm to start this new experience.

The club concluded its statement by welcoming the Portuguese coach and his technical staff to the team.

Although the duration of the contract was not mentioned in the Italian club's statement, some press reports indicated that the Portuguese coach's contract with Milan extends until 2028 with an option to extend for an additional season.
