Al-Ahly Club announced the appointment of Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta as the head coach of the first football team, succeeding Danish coach Jes Thorup, who left his position after completing his tenure with the team.

The contract with Amotta came after intensive negotiations between the two parties in recent days, culminating in an agreement on all the details of the contract and the assistant coaching staff, allowing the Moroccan coach to embark on a new challenge in his coaching career.

Amouta is considered one of the most prominent Arab coaches in recent years, having achieved remarkable successes with Morocco's Wydad and Qatar's Al Sadd. He also led the Jordanian national team to a historic achievement by reaching the Asian Cup final, making him one of the most sought-after names in the region.

Appointing Amotta represents a historic event for Al Ahly, as reports indicate that he is the first non-Egyptian Arab coach to lead the team in its history.
