Carnivali Begins His Mission at Juventus with a Decisive Financial Plan and Transfer Market Review
Giovanni Carnivali officially began his duties as the new CEO of Juventus today, Monday, placing the club's financial file at the top of his priorities on his first days within the new management.
Carnivali moved to Juventus after spending 12 years as the CEO of Sassuolo, succeeding Damien Comolli who recently left his position after just one year at the helm of the Italian club.
The newspaper 'Tuttosport' explained that Carnivali will hold a series of direct meetings with those responsible for financial affairs to form a complete picture of the club's accounts and determine the available budget during the summer transfer market.
At the forefront of the files that the new CEO will work on is studying the settlement agreement signed between Juventus and the Union of European Football Associations, as this agreement will determine the possible spending during the current transfer period, in addition to the value of the revenues the club must achieve from player sales.
Juventus faces additional financial pressures due to its absence from the Champions League in the 2026/2027 season, which may force the club to part with some players to comply with UEFA's financial rules and compensate for the expected revenue shortfall.
In this context, 'Tuttosport' indicated that there are possibilities of selling one of the prominent names in the team, such as Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer, whose contract includes a release clause worth 58 million euros. However, Carnivali intends to study all possible alternatives before making any decision, with the possibility of retaining the player within the team.
Additionally, press reports stated that Carnivali will try to resume negotiations with Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic regarding renewing his contract, in response to the desire of coach Luciano Spalletti.
The club's management believes that keeping Vlahovic could represent a more economically suitable solution, especially if Juventus can avoid signing one or two new strikers during the summer transfer period.
In parallel with these files, Juventus continues to pursue its targets in the transfer market, having already initiated contacts with Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth, along with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, awaiting new developments regarding the two deals in the coming period.
