Will Allegri Waive His Financial Dues with Milan for Napoli?

Monday 15-06-2026
Massimiliano Allegri is close to taking over the managerial role at Napoli, as recent developments indicate his readiness to forgo his severance pay from Milan to expedite his move to the southern club before the start of the new season's preparations.

Milan ended its association with Allegri immediately after the 2025/2026 season, while the Italian coach Antonio Conte is expected to succeed him as the head of Napoli's technical staff with a two-year contract. However, completing the move first requires reaching a final agreement on terminating his current contract with Milan.

The "Football Italia" website reported that negotiations between the two parties have continued over the past weeks without reaching a final agreement, despite the approaching start of preparations for the next season.

Allegri had an additional season left on his contract with Milan, during which he would have earned 5 million euros. Estimates suggest that his annual salary with Napoli will be 4.5 million euros. In this context, Milan offered to pay 500,000 euros as compensation, which represents the difference between his previous salary and the expected salary with Napoli.

For his part, the "Calcio Mercato" website reported that Allegri initially demanded 2 million euros, in addition to another 3 million euros allocated for his technical staff, at the start of the negotiations.

With the continued lack of a final agreement, recent reports have indicated that the Italian coach is considering forgoing any financial compensation from Milan in preparation for starting his new role with Napoli in the coming weeks, possibly even in the next few days.
