Raja Avoids Loss Against Ittihad Touarga with Late Draw

Raja Club Athletic settled for a single point from their match against their guest Ittihad Touarga, as the encounter between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday evening, as part of the twenty-fourth round of the professional league.

The match began with evident caution from both sides, as dangerous opportunities were absent from both goals during the first half, due to good defensive positioning and the inability of the offensive lines to create real scoring chances, resulting in the first half ending goalless.

With the start of the second half, Ittihad Touarga succeeded in breaking the deadlock when Yassine Bammou capitalized on a well-organized attack to give his team the lead in the 57th minute, putting the home team under pressure to find a way back into the game.

Raja quickly responded with intense offensive attempts and got a perfect opportunity to equalize after being awarded a penalty in the 60th minute. However, Maad Al-Dahhak failed to convert it into a goal as goalkeeper Houssam Bou Al-Ainain brilliantly saved the shot, maintaining his team's lead.

Raja continued to press during the final minutes of the match until Besar Halimi managed to bring his team back into the game by scoring the equalizer in the 83rd minute, igniting the remaining minutes which saw exchanged attempts without any change in the score.

With this draw, Raja Club Athletic raised its tally to 43 points, while Ittihad Touarga added an important point to its tally, bringing it to 21 points, in a result that kept both teams' standings open ahead of the decisive rounds of the season.

Despite avoiding a loss at home, Raja missed the opportunity to secure a win that would have given them an extra boost in the race for top positions, while Ittihad Touarga came away with a valuable point from a tough away match.
