Gvardiol's current contract with Manchester City extends until June 2028, but the English club is looking to extend it further given the levels of performance the player is delivering.

The same source added that Real Madrid had been monitoring the player's situation and expressed interest in signing him over the past few weeks, before Manchester City moved to finalize the renewal of his contract early.
